my 2nd toe on my right foot has been hurting me for a while now. i litterely cant bend it forward at all and when i try it apsolutely kills and sends a shooting pain down the back of my toe. i think it may be due to wearing heels all the time as it had just come on suddenly about 2 mths ago. i have looked on a skeletal foot chart and it seems to be the Proximal Phalanx of the second toe that is effecting my foot. please help as it is very painful when wearing shoes on a daily basis.

If you are in that much pain at your proximal phalanx then you need x-rays to rule out a hairline fracture ASAP. If it is a hairline fracture then you need to visit a chiropodist who will make you a custom made tubifoam or otoform pad. You also need to take pressure off the area and I would recommend the application of mild heat to the area to increase healing time. But you need x-rays now.

Typical doctors answer! Did they tell you why you are in so much pain and a possible diagnosis? I would have thought x-rays would have been taken just to rule out any bony damage and confirm ligament damage. You need to visit a chiropodist have some custom padding made for your toe until it heals.
