how often do you see someone who was born with a congenital overlapping fifth toe? i was born with the little toe on my left foot laying completely over on top of the fourth toe. it seems to overlap farther every year. it overlaps so far that you cannot see my little toe from the bottom side of my foot. one podiatrist reccomended removal of the toe. it does not bother me physically at all, just causes some embarrassment and alot of questions at times. was just curious if surgery could make the toe look normal? thank you.

A congenital overlapping fifth toe is actually quite rare. Surgery can prove very successful in straighten the toe. This would be done as day care operation and would possibly be done under local anesthetic.
