:help: ever since i had a operation for severed achillies tendon i have had verious pains in right foot, latest one being severe pain in big toe joint when toe is bent upwards. do a lot of hill walking with dog, seems to get better when i where training shoes, unable to where normal shoes which is problem due to the job that i am employed to do.

You shuld try to use some heel lift pads in your working shoes to take the pressure off the achilles tendon and hence the ligaments and structures that feed off the tendon.
