About a hand's width from my ankle, on the front shin, I have a patch of discolored skin (not veins).
There's no tenderness, and in the morning after waking its not so bad, but gets more 'purplish' looking as the day goes on.
About 8 months ago I injured the ankle of that leg, which caused swelling around the ankle bones on and off for about a month..as far as I know i didnt break any bones then.
Im not overweight, excercise and eat healthily..
I do smoke.
The discoloration, while not painful or infected, is distressing visually..any ideas how i could get rid of it?

It could be several different conditions that may have been caused from the damage to superficial blood vessels, ligaments and soft tissue in the area. I would not like to guess without a physical examination and thus I would recommend you visit your doctor first and then a podiatrist for further advice.
