Please advise, I am an active person who teaches dances, loves to work out and is active all day at work. My right foot hurts evry time i place weight on the area undder the first metarsal ( this foot has a bunion that does not hurt) A podiatrist recommended surgery, are there any other options?

Hello

Have you had x-rays to rule out bony damage? There are many conservative options as apposed to surgery for this type of condition. Silicone metatarsal pads, elasticized cushioning pads and insoles to redistribute pressure away from the 1st metatarsal region.
