Hi there

I have flat feet and a calcineal spur (diagnosed by x-ray).  I was given absolutely no advice by my gp, who just said it would sort itself out in time.

I asked in a Scholl shop, after several months, if anything was availabe - they suggested shoe inserts to correct the overpronation, which has helped a little.

However, reading these pages I realise I should have been using ice and rest all along.  My biggest confusion is whether I should be using orthotics to correct over pronation, or to relieve pressure on the heel spur, or should I be using two orthotics in each shoe?

Any advice will be gratefully received.

The cause of the heel spur is over pronation, the excessive rolling in of the foot strains the planter fascia. You could try the Dr Foot Sports Insoles below to correct both the over pronation and the heel spur.
