I received a slinter straight thru the fingernail.   It sounds like it would be a somewhat painful experience but in fact I didnt even know it had happened.  I noticed it much later.  I can not get it out but it doesnt cause any pain. It is not red or inflamed.  Is there a potential for any problems.  I would like to just leave it alone.  I've had a nail removed before & definetly do not want to go thru that again.   Thank you

I'm not really a finger nail expert! But if it is a splinter then it may cause an infection later. You should at least visit your doctor.
