I have pain in both my feet all the time. It ranges from a general low level (but noticeable) ache to a serious pain, enough to have to take ibuprofen and paracetamol to ease it. There's certainly pain in the ball of the foot (metatarsalgia I guess) but I also get pain along the outside length of the foot. I've tried foot cradles, but they don't help a lot.
I'm 44, always been reasonably fit and active - have played cricket for 25 years which has left me with a gammy knee (awaiting surgery) which no doub't doesn't help. I also suspect I may be experiencing early arthritis aches & soreness in toes and fingers.
1) Is there any hope for me and
2) Any suggestions - I'd just like to be able to walk around without thinking my feet hurt!

You need further tests and a physical examination to determine the cause of this pain as it seems a general discomfort rather than a specific condition. I can recommend silicone pads and soft insoles to ease the pain in the forefoot region and provide comfort while you walk.
