I have been suffering from painful feet for some time now and which seems to be getting increasingly worse; I find pressure put on the soles of the feet causes (predominantly the balls of both feet, not the heel) pain - specifically in the morning, but now also throughout the day whenever I stand.  In the morning I feel crippled and this is beginning to happen throughout the day.  I am now starting to get a sensation within the foot during the day when I am not on my feet, together with a dull ache.  I suffer from an underactive thyroid but do not have excessive weight; I am 35 and my job does not involve too much standing.  I thought walking may help but this caused a heightening of the sensation to that of a feeling of needles within the foot.  I've almost always worn sensible shoes.  Could this relate to the hormonal imbalance of the thyroid similar to pins and needles experienced in my fingers?

This could relate to an hormonal imbalance but it may be a mortons neuroma. You need to visit a chiropodist to confirm the diagnosis. There are many products that could help you such as silicone heel pads, soft silicone insoles with metatarsal pads, half insoles to put inside slippers and shoes etc

Click on shopping above or visit your chiropodist for advice and products.
