I have developed a condition 2 weeks ago that causes pain(sensation of pressure) in the ball-of-the-foot of the left foot, only when I walk and put pressure on the ball and only when I have shoes on!!  This starts soon after I put shoes on and feels like there is something under the ball or pressure on the ball. It also starts under the big toes section and then moves across most of the ball region.
The pain/pressure get worse as the day gets longer. Changing shoes and insoles has little effect.
When I remove shoes I CANNOT recreate the same condition.
This condition arose after a painful knot in the top center of the arch was succesfully treated

Have you checked your shoes or does this occur in all shoes that you wear? It may be a mortons neuroma which is basically inflammation of the nerve in-between the metatarsals. You may need insoles to redistribute pressure away from the area for it to heal.
