In the last two weeks my left heel has really been bothering me when walking distances, and in the last two days it's gotten really bad. I figured it was bad shoes and irritation from rubbing, so I sat down to look at what's going on down there. What it seems to be is a bony lump on the heel part (under achilles tendon, on the heel bone) that is sticking out. I bought these little callus donut pads to take some of the pressure off when I walk because it's gotten awful.

What could have developed so rapidly into a problem? I have seen nothing on the internet that explains what I have.

I compared my left foot to my right, and I have a small lump in the same place on my right heel, but it is not as pronounced or swollen and does not hurt.

Ideas? Thanks!

It could be a Hagland deformity, click below to read further

Visit a podiatrist to have the lesion examined as a differential diagnosis could be a corn or blister.
