I am a 49 year-old female, and I am overweight. I have a calcification in my right foot that is causing me pain on the outer side of my foot. When my podiatrist looked at the x-rays, he said it moved? and that he is going to try to stabilize it and move it back with an ankle brace, and if that didn't work, he would move to a stiff boot, and if that didn't work, surgery would be the last option. I am going to see an orthopedic surgeon soon about this matter. My question is: why would the podiatrist suggest trying to put it back instead of removing it? Couldn't break off again? I am curious as to what you think- if anyone experienced something like this, please reply. Thanks.
