I'm having a problem with my right foot. My toes (tops, sole-side, in-between) itch severely at night to the point where I can't fall asleep or I am woken up from a sound sleep. They get super hot and swollen and a little red, and the only way I can fall asleep when they are itching badly is to wrap my foot in an ice cold wash cloth. My toes don't really itch when my foot is cold, only when it is warmed. I also experience itching on the underside of my foot near the balls of my feet. There are also small flat red bumps all over my big toe and the knuckle toward my instep. Hydrocortisone cream does not help the itching.

This all started about two weeks ago, after I dislocated and fractured my right knee cap. I had been bed ridden for about 5 days, and I have not been walking much at all since. I couldn't even put weight on my right foot during that time and have also been using crutches. Could this have something to do with it? What else can I do to get a good night's rest?

Thank you.

Look up Erythromelalgia - I think it might be what we are looking for!
