I have written a few post lately regarding torn ligaments in my foot and most recently about hitting my foot into a chair.well I went back to my podiatrist today and he did more x-rays and said it looks like I chipped a bone..the one that runs from my second toe up my foot...he said something looked "funny" on the x-ray and it wasnt a break or fracture so thats what he called it...a crack.....

He said stay in the aircast and come back in 3 weeks which was his diagnosis from just the ligaments. All that sounds great but is that really sufficient time for healing and is an aircast enough to support my foot enough to heal a cracked bone? When I look at my foot it looks as though the bones from my big toe up is protruding out like thats the one that might be cracked....

I am considering getting a second opinion as he didnt even remember me from 4 days ago when i went in initially. I had to reexplain my injury....

Any insite you could give me would be appreciated.

I really need to see the x-ray to give accurate advice. Seek a second opinion; if you have "chipped" the bone than you need more than an air cast for immobilization.
