Sweaty & Smelly Feet

Introduction to Sweaty, Smelly Feet

Sweaty feet. Throughout the average day, the body naturally perspires to regulate heat in the body. In some individuals, natural perspiration is excessive in the feet which results in sweaty feet. This condition is known as Hyperhidrosis and is defined as the production of perspiration beyond what is necessary to cool the body.

Understanding this condition

Sweaty feet can result in very smelly feet! This condition can be very embarrassing for the affected patient. Patients often experience patches of skin that tend to peel and become very painful. Athletes foot is also a common associated condition with sweaty feet.

Causes of Smelly Feet

  • There are more sweat glands in our feet than anywhere else in the body.

Anyone can get sweaty feet, regardless of the temperature or time of year. But teenagers and pregnant women are especially prone because their hormonal ups-and-downs make them sweat more.

You are also more prone to foot perspiration if you are on your feet all day, if youre under a lot of stress or you have a medical condition called hyperhidrosis, which makes you sweat more than usual. Fungal infections, such as athletes foot, can also lead to bad foot odour.

Feet become smelly if sweat soaks into shoes and they dont dry before you wear them again.

Bacteria on the skin breaks down sweat as it comes from the pores. A cheesy odour which can be unbearable at times is released as the sweat decomposes.

Your feet sweat into your shoes all day so they get damp and bacteria starts to grow. The bacteria continue to breed once you have taken your shoes off, especially if you put them in a dark cupboard. Then, when you put your shoes back on the next day, even if you have just had a shower, putting your feet into still damp shoes creates the perfect conditions for the bacteria to thrive in a warm, dark and moist.

Customer Review

"I was pleasantly surprised by the results. This product performed exceptionally well in that it didn't mask odour with heavy perfume. Instead, this mousse greatly reduced and almost eliminated all foot odours. In addition, I found that it was easy to use. I used it only once every morning and the mousse lasted all day long. I'd absolutely recommend this product to friends and family."
